East Lothian Liberal Democrats Annual Dinner

5th September 2008, at 7.00pm, at Craigielaw Golf Club, Aberlady

Our Annual Dinner will be at Craigielaw Golf Club, Aberlady on Friday 5 September. Everyone who went last year was impressed with the lovely food and spectacular setting. Our guest speaker will be Jeremy Purves, MSP for Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale. Tickets are the same price as last year at £30 and on sale now

Grand Bazaar

27th September 2008, at 9.30am, at Corn Exchange. Haddington

Whilst September may seem a long way off, we are already looking forward to our major fund raising event of the year - the annual Grand Bazaar in the Corn Exchange, Haddington on Saturday 27th September.

First of all, we need all the usual stuff to sell - quality household goods, bric a brac, tombola contributions, books, plants, small items of furniture, baking, etc. (We are not allowed to sell any electrical items) If you have friends and family who are having a clear-out, please let them know about this event. If necessary, we can arrange for donations to be collected.

Second, we need lots of help, including setting up on the Friday evening before and clearing up afterwards on Saturday afternoon. Please let us know soon what you can manage. If you have any dry and secure storage space we could use for two or three weeks before the sale, we'd like to know too! And, if you can spare a few hours in the week preceding the sale, helping to sort and price, you would be very welcome to join in.

Grand Bazaar left over sale

From 27th October 2008 to 1st November 2008, at Elvon Shop, Tranent

The Elvon Shop in Tranent has been booked for the week Monday 27th October - Saturday 1st November. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to sell on any items left over from the Bazaar and Book Sale and provides us with some very useful extra funds.

If you have helped look after the shop before, you will know that it is not a chore, and we hope you will join us again. And, if you haven't, please ask any member of the fund raising committee what's involved.

If you can spare a couple of hours during the week, can help set it up or clear up at the end, please phone Jenny Mollison (0131 665 2055) and add your name to the rota.
