Cllr Jacquie Bell, Liberal Democrat representative for Dunbar & District, has been out on the street with Westminster candidate Amy Rodger collecting signatures in support of local post offices that are under threat of closure under plans introduced by the Labour government.

This action has been part of an on-going campaign. Jacquie has previously campaigned for the continuation of pension books which were abolished by Labour, advocated the alternative provision of giro payments and has introduced UK Lib Dem policy that Post Offices should remain payment points for benefits.

Jacquie said, "Instead of closing post offices the government should be investing in the future of them by developing the many vital services that they offer. I will continue to work with Amy Rodger in securing the safety of post offices in Dunbar and stop Labour from restricting access to important local services."
