Cllr Stuart CurriePreston/Seton/Gosford
On 3rd May 2007 the people of East Lothian voted for change. Liberal Democrat councillors are now running key local council services from Housing to Social Care and from Planning to Sports Services to name only a few. We have now launched "Our Contract with the People" which sets out our aspirations for a county which is forward looking and has a sense of direction. On a whole range of issues we intend to deliver on our promises and ensure that East Lothian is a better place to live. As your local councillor I pledge to work tirelessly for your interests throughout Longniddry, Cockenzie and Port Seton and Prestonpans. I am proud to serve you in my new role and look forward to hearing from you in the weeks, months and years ahead. Best wishes,

The past year since the exciting election which promoted me from lone Lib Dem Councillor to Provost has be hectic but very interesting. It is an honour to represent East Lothian as Provost. In this capacity I have hosted a number of events designed to promote the County to the wider world including a very successful exhibition and Civic Reception to celebrate the centenary of the Knox Academy Cadet Corps. As it is now the only Cadet Force operating in a local authority school, we are particularly proud of this activity. Though there are many conflicting pressures on my time, I am still eager to help in any way I can, so please keep me informed of any issues that you are concerned about. My colleagues and I will continue working hard to sustain and improve our communities. Cllr Jacquie BellDunbar & East Linton
It is now a year since the STV Council election of 2007 and 15 years of local campaigning saw me elected as one of the 3 councillors for Dunbar and East Linton ward. Since that time I have been working as a member of the Administration to deliver change for the area. As I do my work I am acutely aware of neglect by the previous Administration - roads, flood defences, the A1, planning permissions given without consideration of local infrastructure, facilities at the beaches, school repairs... In response the new Administration is delivering - a new Dunbar primary school, a new community facility for Dunbar, investment in roads repairs in both the towns and rural areas, investment in beach facilities, flood protection at West Barns, safety measures on the A1. We are being more open with local people - decisions now involve public consultation on ideas rather than residents finding that decisions have been made on the pages the local media. I am also involved with the party at Scottish and UK level. I have recently been involved in party policy on Excess packaging, special needs education and Post Office closures. I am here to help you. I hold local surgeries that are advertised in the press, and do not hesistate to contact me directly at jbell@eastlothian.gov.uk and 07772 383564 if i can be of any assistance. Kind Regards,
